How do you play Whack-a-Mole?

Click a mole as soon as it pops out of a hole. A hit scores 1 point; clicking an empty hole deducts 1 point (your score never goes below 0). The game ends after the 30-second time limit and your final score is recorded.

What do the difficulty levels change?

Easy, Normal, and Hard change how long each mole stays visible and how long the gap is before the next one appears. Hard also grows the grid from 3x3 to 4x4, giving you more spots to watch. The 30-second time limit stays the same regardless of difficulty.

What happens if I click an empty hole?

You lose 1 point. Accuracy matters here, so mashing random holes can actually hurt your score.

Do I lose points if I miss a mole (don't click it in time)?

Accepted Answer

No. A mole disappearing on its own without being clicked doesn't cost you anything. Penalties only apply when you directly click an empty hole.

Can more than one mole appear at once?

No. Only one mole is ever active at a time. After it's hit or times out, a random gap passes before the next one appears in a random hole.
